Why are the cheetahs dying?
The cheetah population is decreasing because humans are killing them. Humans can kill some of them because they are easier to spot than others. The ones that are easier to see are easier to kill. So there are a lot more cheetahs that have camouflage because of natural selection. Another reason humans can kill them is because they have better weapons. The humans have guns, and all the cheetah has is claws, teeth, and its ability to run. But, sadly, even though the cheetahs are the fastest land animals on earth nothing can outrun a bullet.
Future population
If people continue to kill the cheetah, they will go extinct very soon. This will effect many species. The gazelle and all of the other animals that the cheetah kill's populations will rise dramatically. They will then eventually eat most of the resources and die. After that all animals that eat them will die, and then everything in the African savanna will die. While this might be a little over dramatic, it could happen, you never know...
